XAMPP is an Open Source cross platform application bundle comprising software like Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl. In fact, the name is the acronym for all these software.
XAMPP is very useful if you want to test and run database run websites on your computer without having any Web connection at all. This is really useful for adjusting templates and making sure they work correctly.
